Lose weight by eating breakfast?

Are you on a diet to lose weight? Need to shed a few kilograms for the upcoming summer? Regularly skipping meals to get to your goal weight? How about I tell you that eating breakfast can actually aid your weight loss?

It is believed that when we skip meals, our gut can release particular hormones that will act on the orbital frontal cortex (which controls the brain in determining how important or tasty a food is) and will steer it towards sugary and fatty foods. According to a study in the United Kingdom, those that fast in the morning will make them hungrier and increase the appeal of fatty foods as well as how much they ate.

If you eat a lot during the morning and at the start of your day, it will assist your weight loss according to another Australian study. However, for this weight loss diet to be more effective, a heavy and nutritious dinner will need to be balanced by a light dinner. The study was conducted on 93 obese women who were split into two groups and delivered carefully planned meals. Although both groups ate 1400 calories every day for 12 weeks, one group ate 200 calories at breakfast, 500 calories at lunch and 700 calories for dinner. The second group ate a heavier and bigger breakfast of 700 calories, lunch 500 calories and dinner 200 calories. After the study, the ‘big dinner’ group lost 3.31 kg and 3.5cm off their waist as opposed to the ‘big breakfast’ group that lost 8.07 kilograms and 7.5 cm off their waistlines. Almost 5 kilograms difference between the two groups.

This definitely demonstrates the importance of breakfast and benefits it can provide you, although it might take a more longer approach to lose weight as opposed to fasting, this method is much more nutritious AND you are able to eat a delicious and nutritious breakfast at the same time! What more can you ask for when you want to lose weight??
